Throw the perfect party for the man in your life

| All Parties

As we enter into September, Father’s Day seems a million miles away for those who miss being pampered. Nowadays, we can’t turn a corner without being reminded of how to spoil the kids, whether it’s a children’s party or the latest toy, but when it comes to spoiling adults, it seems a lot of us – especially the men – often lose out.

Help is at hand however. Whether it’s a birthday, retirement, or just an excuse to have a few drinks without the kids, there is one kind of party you can throw that definitely won’t appeal to a younger audience – a casino themed party. Here are a few tips on how you can have the perfect gambling themed evening.

Serve up a killer cocktail.

For a true evening of class, think James Bond in Casino Royale. How would James Bond have his cocktail? A vodka martini, shaken not stirred, of course – although you can learn how to make your own right here. Make your man feel like his very own secret agent by throwing a few cocktails together – you’ll be surprised just what you can make by combining the bottles gathering dust at the back of your liquor cabinet.

Pick games to suit your budget.

We can all dream of decking out our houses from top to bottom with gaming tables, slot machines and more. Unfortunately however, this comes at a price. If you still want to create the casino experience without having to hire expensive croupier entertainers, implement simple games like blackjack into the theme. It’s not hard to learn how to play blackjack – you can pick it up online if you’re not sure, and all you’ll need is a deck of cards. For those who are a little shy to play the extra skilled game of poker, a blackjack theme is a brilliant way to start off.

Add the finishing touches.

Creating the casino atmosphere with games and cocktails is one thing, but it’s another to really push the boat out and perfect the theme. This is your chance to get really adventurous – play with casino night invitation ideas, design your own chips and consider even making your own casino themed cakes. If it’s a birthday celebration, nothing will delight your man more than a classic black and red, card game inspired treat.

Above all, make sure the evening is as authentic as possible – book a babysitter, call around his friends in advance and get ready to have an unforgettable evening!

Blushing Bride Bridal Shower

| All Parties, Party Planning

Tons of bridal shower ideas using lace, mason jars, and pastel colors from

Hi everyone! This is Britni from Play. Party. Pin. again, and I’m so excited to be back here sharing one of my favorite parties I’ve planned recently. A couple of weeks ago I was given the honor of throwing a bridal shower for my younger sister who is getting married at the end of the month. Her wedding colors are blush, ivory, light mint, and light yellow, and she is doing a vintage feel wedding with colored mason jars, lots of lace, and other vintage details. I used her wedding theme and colors to plan this blushing bride bridal shower with the help of my
mom, sister Jami, and some party friends.
